About Rose and Erin

Rose and Erin met in 2018 and immediately struck up a friendship, united by a reverence for everyday objects. Their approach towards craft reflects a shared commitment to sustainability and accessibility. As they write in the introduction to their new book Making Things, “Craft can be exquisite and exacting, the result of formal training and years of practice, but it can also be experimental and messy and not quite perfect.” Making Things features more than 100 projects designed to bring a sense of playfulness and flair to the everyday, with step-by-step guides to creating clay incense burners, boxes made from discarded magazines, sewn cardboard toys and more.

Rose Pearlman is an artist, teacher, and textile designer. Her first book was Modern Rug Hooking. Erin Boyle is the author of Simple Matters and the subscription newsletter, Tea Notes. They both live in Brooklyn, NY with their families.
